Newtown vs Spartak Trnava Predictions
- Spartak Trnava thrashed Newtown 4-1 in last week’s first leg.
- The Slovak side have won five of their last six competitive games, but seen both teams net in four.
- The Welsh outfit have won one of their last six competitive games, losing four.
Slovakian outfit expecting progress
Having raced to a 4-1 home win over Newtown last week, Slovakian top-flight outfit Spartak Trnava have already all-but sealed their spot in the Europa Conference League’s third qualifying round, but they can put some extra gloss on the scoreline when they travel to Wales.
Indeed, having finished third in their domestic league last season, Spartak Trnava are in strong form, winning five of their last six competitive matches and scoring 12 goals across that run. Having raced to victory after amassing 13 shots on target in the first leg, they will expect to dominate again.
Newtown, meanwhile, finished third in the Welsh top flight last season, though they failed to end the campaign on a high and come into this clash with four losses in their last six outings, winning only once. Having required penalties to edge past Faroe Islanders HB Torshavn in the last round, they will find it hard to compete with the Slovaks.
Handicap market looks attractive
Given the visitors’ utter dominance in the first leg and the price available around Spartak Trnava to beat a -1 handicap, backing another comfortable win for the Slovakian side looks prudent.
Meanwhile, four of Spartak’s last six games have seen both teams net, so a 3-1 away win could represent a decent correct score prediction.
