Nice vs Gazelec Ajaccio Betting Tips & Predictions

Nice managed to get back to winning ways a couple of weeks ago when they beat bottom of the table Troyes to end a four match winless streak for them, and they managed to follow it up last weekend with a 2-0 win over Montpellier. It seems that their poor run is behind them now.

These back to back wins have allowed Nice to regain 3rd position in Ligue 1, and they are now just five points adrift of Monaco in 2nd place and one point above Lyon in 4th. However, a loss on Sunday could see them drop as low as 6th position.

Gazelec Ajaccio also managed a win last weekend when they hosted Caen and came away with a crucial three points. This could be a turning point in the minnows’ season. They have been steadily improving in performances but unable to capitalise and take all three points, instead often coming away with a draw.

They have only lost one of their last five in all competitions though, and this has seen the surefire relegation favourites at the start of the season edge ever closer to safety. They remain in 17th position, but are level on points with Reims above them and know that a win could see them leapfrog two teams and into 16th.

The visitors may be fighting for survival, and if they were playing a mid-table team lacking in motivation I’d be backing them to get something, but away from home against a Nice side gunning for 2nd position I thinks they’ll come up empty handed.

Nice have won five of their last seven Ligue 1 matches on home turf whilst Gazelec Ajaccio have lost two of their last four on the road and haven’t won in six away days in the league. This makes odds of 4/5 for a Nice win look good value for money, and I’m going for a 1-0 correct score prediction at 5/1 as well.
