North Macedonia can earn World Cup qualifying victory

North Macedonia will be making their debut at a major tournament when they turn out at this summer’s European Championships but they must firstly navigate the opening few matches of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

They began with a 3-2 defeat to Romania but gave a good account of themselves in that contest, seeing more of the ball and managing 14 shots in the game and they are expected to run out comfortable winners against Liechtenstein.

However, their goals against Romania did not come until the 82nd and 83rd minutes and they have been level at the break in recent internationals with Armenia, Georgia and Estonia.
