Notts County vs Crawley Town Predictions
It was seen as somewhat of a coup by Crawley Town that they had managed to retain the services of boss Harry Kewell over the summer in spite of strong rumours that he was being lined up to take the hot seat elsewhere. However, that accomplishment was short lived as Notts County’s troubles meant that they were in the hunt for a new boss and they thought Kewell would be the ideal fit. This Tuesday the two sides go head to head for the first time since that switch and there remains plenty of intrigue as to who will have the power to come out on top.
It was a disastrous start to the campaign for Notts County as they managed just a single point in their opening eight matches. After being heavily tipped to win the League Two title this season, it is little surprise that they decided enough was enough and parted company with manager Kevin Nolan. Since the appointment of Kewell there has been a steady sign of progression and this weekend saw the Magpies claim their first win of the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Crewe.
Making the trip to Meadow Lane is a Crawley Town side who’s season was turned on it’s head with Kewell’s departure but the strength of character in the squad has been proven by the fact that they have continued to gain positive results. The Red Devils have a good record in front of goal and thanks to this strength up top, they can never be written off.
It is an emotional fixture for many this Tuesday, but there is still the business of getting three points on the board. The hosts have frequently been involved in high scoring games and their matches this term have finished with an impressive average of 3.7 goals per game. This, combined with the fact that the visitors are hardly poor in front of goal, leads us to believe that backing there to be over 2.5 goals scored is the way to go in this fixture.
