Notts County vs Harrogate Town Predictions
Notts County Poised to Punish Slumping Harrogate
Notts County should be backed to beat Harrogate at home in League Two on Saturday. The visitors have not been great going forward this season and Notts County manager Martin Paterson will fancy his chances of getting a result against Simon Weaver’s side.
They are third in League Two, having won eight of their 15 games this season, while Harrogate are 21st with four wins. Notts County are 18 places above Harrogate and have 13 points more than them.
Notts County beat Cheltenham 2-1 on Monday to maintain their winning habit and bring the hosts’ four-game unbeaten run in League Two to an end. Notts County have won eight of the 12 games in which they’ve scored first this season (67%), and this win makes it four wins in the five matches in which they have been odds-on.
Notts County are hitting their stride, having lost just one of their last seven League Two games. They have won five of their last six home matches and are aiming for a third straight success.
Notts County have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just six goals in seven League Two games – an average of 0.86 goals per game. In contrast, Harrogate have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 league games.
The visitors could do with turning things around. Harrogate have lost nine of their last 11 League Two matches and are on a run of five successive reverses. They have also lost their last two away games.
It would be no surprise to see Notts County score, having found the net in 19 of their last 20 league games. They have also scored an average of 2.75 goals a game in their four League Two games against teams in the bottom six this season.
Notts County have been in fine form at home, winning their last four League Two games.
They have won two of the last three League Two meetings with Harrogate by at least two goals and, with the visitors losing four of their last five away games, a 2-0 home win looks the best correct-score bet.
