Crewe Backed to Outfox Oldham at Boundary Park

Crewe are in the winning habit and should be backed at Oldham on Saturday. They are more dangerous in the final third than their hosts, and that could prove decisive in this League Two clash at Boundary Park.

Crewe are seven places above Oldham in the table, with the two sides separated by six points. Crewe, in seventh, have eight wins and six losses from their 15 games this season, while Oldham have won four and lost four.

Crewe beat Shrewsbury 3-1 last weekend to keep up their recent winning trend and bring the visitors’ four-game unbeaten run to an end. Crewe were 19/20 favourite for the game and have won both matches in which they have been odds-on this season.

The hosts have looked vulnerable at the back, with Oldham failing to keep a clean sheet in four of their last six League Two games and conceding in eight of their last ten home matches.

The hosts could do with turning things around, having managed just one victory in their last ten League Two home games. Oldham have failed to win in five of the last six overall.

The visitors have the edge up front. Oldham have struggled to find the net at home this season, with just six goals in seven home games in League Two. Crewe, on the other hand, have been in prolific form going forward, scoring at least twice in four of their last six league matches.

Crewe can edge this, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. There have been fewer than three goals in 11 of Oldham’s 15 League Two outings this season and Crewe have been the winners of the last two meetings between the sides by a single goal.
