Olympiacos vs Fiorentina Predictions
- Each of Fiorentina’s last eight games have seen both teams score

- La Viola have kept five clean sheets across their last 27 matches
- Ayoub El Kaabi has scored in seven of his last nine European appearances
Fiorentina return to the final
Fiorentina return to the Europa Conference League final after losing at this stage to West Ham a year ago. La Viola are chasing redemption, but they meet an Olympiakos side who are aiming to lift the trophy at the home of rivals AEK Athens.
Olympiakos finished third in the Greek Super League, but they could end the campaign on a high by lifting this trophy after a brilliant run to the final. Having upset the likes of Fenerbahce and Aston Villa to make it this far, the Greek side have certainly proved that they can produce a shock.
Both sides to be on the front foot
Fiorentina head into the final fresh from a high-scoring run, with both teams scoring in each of their last eight matches. The Italian side have had six of their last eight games in Europe finish with both teams scoring. Czech side Viktoria Plzen held them to a 0-0 draw across two legs in the quarters, but Olympiakos aren’t likely to take a similar approach this week.
Olympiakos finished their domestic season with a 2-2 draw against Panathinaikos and they should be good for a goal in Athens. The Greek side scored six goals across their semi-final clash with Aston Villa, while they’ve scored 16 times in this competition since dropping out of the Europa League in the Autumn.
Fiorentina like to play on the front foot, but that’s left them open defensively. La Viola have managed only five clean sheets in their last 27 matches, while they meet an Olympiakos side who have produced only two shutouts in their last 11 matches. With defensive concerns for both teams, expect goals in Athens.
El Kaabi to add to great scoring run
While both sides have defensive issues, they each have attacking options capable of making the breakthrough. For Fiorentina, this could well be Nico Gonzalez’s final game. He was chased by a string of Premier League sides last summer and the winger has popped up with four goals in this competition this term.
However, the Italian side should feat Olympiakos forward Ayoub El Kaabi. The Moroccan striker hit five of their six goals against Aston Villa in the last round, while he has scored 10 times in the Conference League, an impressive tally considering his team only dropped into the competition in February.
El Kaabi has scored in seven of his last nine appearances in Europe and he’s a great anytime scorer option in Wednesday’s final.
