Osasuna vs Elche Predictions

  • Both teams have not scored in the last four Osasuna games.
  • Osasuna have scored a total of four goals in seven home games this season (average 0.57 per game)
  • Elche sacked Fran Escriba after their 3-0 defeat at Real Betis and will not have a new coach in place for this game.

Escriba-less Elche have been sinking for weeks

Managerless Elche travel to El Sadar to face an Osasuna side that are just as desperate to end a winless streak on Monday night.

Fran Escriba announced his own sacking in the post-match press conference following Los Franjiverdes’ defeat at home to Real Betis last Sunday. A pretty abject display saw them fall 3-0 behind within half an hour and there was little improvement in the second half even if they didn’t concede further goals.

Elche have been unable to arrest a drop off in their attacking numbers in recent weeks which has seen them post an xG figure no higher than 0.68 across their last four away games.

Predicting their starting line-up for this one is like to trying to read tea leaves, but opponents Osasuna will also have little to go on as they attempt to rediscover their early-season form.

Los Rojillos lack firepower at home

Jagoba Arrasate’s side have been better away from Pamplona this term, taking just six of their 19-point total at home – where they have scored only four times in seven games.

Although Monday’s match clearly presents a great opportunity for them against an out-of-form and potentially rudderless opponent, we feel the both teams to score market offers a better chance than the home win at a similar price.

Both teams  have not scored in the last four Osasuna games and Elche’s underlying stats suggest most of their recent matches should have been devoid of goals too. A third 0-0 of the season – only Villarreal have been involved in more – could be on the cards for Los Rojillos too.
