Partick Thistle vs Hamilton Academical Betting Tips & Predictions

It’s the end of a long season in Scotland, and this is one of those end of season matches that could go either way. Both Partick Thistle and Hamilton Academical are pretty much locked into their current positions now and have absolutely nothing left to play for.

Partick Thistle sit in 3rd position in the bottom split of the Scottish Premiership, three points behind Dundee but nine goals behind on goal difference, while Hamilton Academical are three points behind them with a 12 goal deficit in the goal difference.

The lack of any pressure on Partick Thistle was evident in both the positive and negative on Wednesday. They went two goals up against Dundee United in the first half and were 3-1 up with 15 minutes left to play, but their concentration lapsed and they conceded two in five minutes to draw the game. This came after a 2-0 win at Kilmarnock on Saturday, making it three wins, three defeats, and two draws in their last eight outings.

Hamilton Academical have improved recently, and as such managed to secure safety ahead of Kilmarnock. Their defeat to Inverness CT made it three wins and four defeats in their last seven outings.

I think we should expect goals on Saturday. Both teams have scored a few recently and shown the defensive lapses in concentration which comes with end of season games that mean nothing.

Hamilton Acacemical have seen Over 2.5 goals in eight of their last 12 trips away too, while Partick Thistle’s home matches have had at least three goals in them in four of the last six. This makes odds of 5/6 for Over 2.5 Goals look very good value to me, and I’m going for a 2-1 Hamilton Academical win at 9/1 due to their recent good form on the road.
