Peru vs Chile Predictions

Saturday’s international friendly action features an all-South American clash between Peru and Chile. An open, exciting game is expected to be in order overall as both sides chase victory.

After far from disgracing themselves in what was their first World Cup in 36 years in Russia, Peru are now looking to maintain their strong performances having retained the services of now legendary boss Ricardo Gareca. Los Incas did extremely well to qualify for the tournament and were unfortunate to bow out due to two narrow 1-0 defeats, but all focus can now only be on building momentum towards next year’s Copa America.

Despite losing both of their games 2-1 in the last international break, Peru put in some encouraging showings on the road to Holland and Germany respectively, and will be looking to impress once again on Saturday. There are no real surprise inclusions in the squad, with most of those included having participated in the World Cup and those that take to the pitch will be looking to solidify their hold on a place in the side ahead of travelling to contest another big competition next year.

Meanwhile, after qualifying for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and having won the last two editions of the Copa America, Chile were one of the real surprise omissions from the 2018 edition of the game’s biggest competition and are now looking to put said disappointment behind them.

With the forthcoming Copa America likely the last major competition for many of this ‘golden generation’, getting preparation right going into it is of paramount importance and for that reason, games like Saturday’s are being taken very seriously as boss Reinaldo Rueda looks to stamp his mark on the team. In the last international break, La Roja saw their friendly with Japan postponed, whilst they picked up a 0-0 draw  to South Korea, but returning to winning ways is the ultimate aim in this particular friendly.

Ultimately, when Peru and Chile have clashed in recent years, entertainment has been guaranteed and that doesn’t look to be any different this time around, with both nations possessing some real attacking talents and hungry to push for a win.

The last 3 meetings between the two have all seen goals at both ends, with a huge average of 4.33 a game on show and at current odds, we’re more than happy to have a play on the Both Teams to Score line at an appealing price. Both teams typically play in an attacking manner and there’s no reason at all to believe that’s about to change and we can envisage the match ending in an enthralling 2-2 draw.
