Peterborough vs Sheffield United Predictions

  • Sheffield United have won five of their last seven Championship games.
  • Peterborough have won just one of their last 12 league games (D3, L8).
  • The Blades have managed just two clean sheets in their last 12 away games.
  • Peterborough have only failed to score in two of their last eight at home in all competitions.

Blades looking to move closer to play-offs

Sheffield United have managed five wins in their last seven league games and they can boost their chances of gate-crashing the play-off spots by seeing off struggling Peterborough in the late Championship game on Saturday.

Posh appeared on course to claim a vital victory as they bid to avoid the drop on Tuesday as they opened up a 2-0 lead at Birmingham, only to concede twice in the final five minutes as they had to settle for a point.

The Blades’ run of five wins and just one defeat in their last seven Championship games has seen them move up to 12th spot. The Bramall Lane club are eight points outside the play-off places but they do have games in hand over all of the teams above them so they can still challenge for promotion and I’m expecting them to leave London Road with all three points on Saturday.

However, it may not be a straightforward task for the visitors and this fixture looks like an ideal candidate for a result and both teams to score bet. Both teams have scored in five of the hosts’ last six games and they have managed a goal in two of their last three defeats in the league.

Posh have scored in six of their last eight home games and the Blades have only managed two clean sheets in their last 12 away so we may well see goals at both ends. The visitors are the team in form though, and a 3-1 win for Sheffield United looks to have a chance in the correct score market as Peterborough have conceded at least three goals in three of their last four league games.
