Norway can triumph in high-scoring Cardiff clash

There were plenty of early positives when Craig Bellamy took over as Wales manager, such as Nations League promotion, but since then there have been fewer and fewer positives for fans to cling to.

The Dragons failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the playoff and they have struggled badly in the top tier of Nations League action.

A 2-0 defeat to Denmark on Sunday made it three defeats on the spin for Bellamy’s side and they have only won two of their last 11 games.

Those victories came against North Macedonia and Liechtenstein and Thursday’s opponents Norway are a major step up in class.

The Scandinavians beat Senegal, Ivory Coast and Brazil en route to a quarter-final departure at the World Cup and they beat Denmark in their opening Nations League clash before being a touch unfortunate to lose 2-1 to Portugal on Sunday.

Orjan Nyland’s poor performance in goal was a key factor in that loss but they did win the shot count 22-12 and should be too strong for a struggling Wales side.

Side with Norway to win a game which also goes over 2.5 goals. Wales should be able to add to the goals total as Norway’s defence has looked suspect at times, but the visitors have the firepower to win comfortably regardless and a 3-1 away victory appeals.
