Port Vale vs Burton Albion Predictions

The best bet is both teams to score in Saturday’s Staffordshire derby between Port Vale and Burton at Vale Park. Burton have scored in five League One games in a row, including in a 3-1 win over Huddersfield last month.

Port Vale, bottom of the League One table, are on 16 defeats, six draws and five wins after 27 games this season while Burton are 22nd with eight wins, seven draws and 14 reverses. The two sides are separated by ten points.

Port Vale are finding life tough, with six reverses in their last eight League One games, and while Burton have not won in four, they have only won on one of their last eight road trips.

Both teams are struggling defensively. Port Vale have failed to keep a clean sheet in 14 of their last 16 League One games, while Burton have shipped more goals than all but two other teams in the division this season.

Port Vale may be able to edge out Burton in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. The visitors are on a four-game losing run away from home and have suffered two successive 2-1 defeats on the road in League One.
