Port Vale vs Exeter Predictions
We may still be early in the season but the title race in League Two is already starting to hot up. Right now Lincoln City have the advantage, but the side leading the chasing pack is Exeter City and this weekend they have the opportunity to keep the pressure when they make the trip to Vale Park to take on a Port Vale side who have started to show plenty of improvements in their last two outings.
The hosts started their campaign with an impressive 3-0 victory over Cambridge United, but in truth they have had a pretty inconsistent start to the campaign since then. However, a 1-1 draw with a Forest Green side who have had a decent start to the season, was followed by victories over Northampton Town and Crewe Alexandra. Vale will have been disappointed to their start but those last three results shows that they are starting to find their feet and they will be a danger against anyone in this division.
Making the trip to Vale Park is an Exeter City side who will be delighted to the start they have made to the campaign. After back-to-back defeats in successive play-off finals, there will no doubt be little hunger to try and win promotion through that route this time around. The Grecians have the second best offensive record in the division with 18 goals scored so far, and that offensive capability has allowed the side to maintain their early season title charge.
Given the recent improvement of the hosts, they will no doubt fancy their chances ahead of a difficult fixture. However, the visitors are excellent in front of goal and it looks to be an uphill challenge for Vale to keep them at bay. With this in mind, we think that backing both teams to score represents the best chance of a decent return.
We are not done there though, as even though the hosts have started to look better of late, the visitors form simply looks to be too strong. With this in mind, we think that combining our initial both teams to score tip with an away win looks to be an excellent opportunity to boost the potential return.
