      Porto vs Moreirense Predictions

Porto’s Europa League tie started poorly in Germany this week, they lost 2-0 to Bort. Dortmund and now have a little bit of a mountain to climb heading into the second leg next week. Still, they should have fresh energy heading into Primeira Liga action this weekend after a memorable 2-1 away win over Benfica last Friday. The victory moves them to within three points of the defending champions, six points behind league leaders Sporting Lisbon and very much back into the title picture.

A home tie against relegation battlers Moreirense should represent another opportunity to collect some points. Moreirense have one win in their past four games, they haven’t been involved in a draw since the calendar flipped to 2016, losing five and winning three.

      Reason for Betting Tips

Earlier in the season, it looked like Porto might survive the loss of formidable striker Jackson Martinez last summer. We now know that the reliability of Martinez’s goal-scoring was invaluable. However, we’re confident that the third place team will have gained a little spring in their step after picking up a win against their bitter rivals and we’ll back a confident and dominant display against a team in Moreirense that has already conceded 38 goals this season. Porto should win this game by a margin and the Asian Handicap odds represent a nice offer with -2.0 at 2.025 with bet365.

      Head-to-Head

In 12 games against Moreirense, Porto have nine wins and three draws. They’ve shown a little extra susceptibility to the upset in recent weeks, most notably in a 2-1 home defeat to Arouca. Moreirense also put together a very good performance to draw 2-2 at home against Porto earlier this season.

      Statistics

Porto has won 45.5% of its home matches this season by two goals or more.
