NBA Playoffs Outright Winner Tip
The Cavs topped the Eastern Conference, putting up impressive numbers against the NBA’s strongest sides. They finished the season with the league’s best offensive rating, while they boast contenders for Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year. The Cavs have a talented roster, which looks more cohesive under Kenny Atkinson’s watch. They head into the playoffs having put together three win streaks of 12 games or more this term, making this a standout price.
NBA Double Tip
The Knicks and Celtics finally played out a high scoring game in their series, with the teams combining for 234 points in Game 5. And while the main story heading into Game 6 will be the injury to Tatum, it should not see a major drop off in scoring. While Tatum is undoubtedly the best scorer on the visitors roster, he is also an elite wing defender. Without his presence the Knicks wings should have more success scoring the ball. Offensively, the Celtics will not have Tatum to bail them out at the end of the shot clock. Look for them to increase the pace instead, trying to create cleaner looks in transition.
In a must win, I expect the Warriors to go back into a faster pace to try and control tempo and generate easier shots against Minnesota. Finally, Jimmy Butler III has been complacent and a non-factor offensively in this series. The Warriors need Butler more involved offensively if they want a chance to win. With the Warriors’ backs against the walls, Butler should come out with more intensity in game 5. I think the Wolves will win the series tonight at home, but the Warriors’ adjustments on offense could result in the biggest scoring total of the series.
