Preston vs Peterborough Predictions

• Peterborough have conceded 10 goals across their opening four games of the season
• Preston have shipped seven goals in their opening three Championship games
• Both sides have seen BTTS land in two of their three games so far

Preston continue to sink

Preston lost for the third game in a row in midweek, with problems going for reluctant manager Frankie McAvoy. He’s got a massive job on his hands after their losing run, with the magnitude of Alex Neil’s job at Deepdale now clear to see.

The hosts opened the season with a 4-1 loss to Hull and they face another promoted side on Saturday. Peterborough lost their opener 3-0 to Luton but unlike Preston they’ve bounced back, beating Derby 2-1 and drawing 2-2 with Cardiff.

While Posh have made a good start their defensive issues are clear. The visitors have shipped 10 goals in their opening four fixtures in all competitions, blowing a 2-0 lead at home to Cardiff in midweek.

Meanwhile, Preston followed up conceding four to Hull by shipping three goals in defeats at Reading and Huddersfield. Neither of these two are looking all that solid, so we’re backing both teams to score at Deepdale. On top of that, a 2-1 victory for Posh is my correct score prediction, because I don’t think the hosts can match their attacking quality if this becomes a wide open game.
