PSG vs Maccabi Haifa Predictions
- PSG were leading at half-time in two of their four UCL group games.
- Ten of PSG’s 12 Ligue 1 games this term ended with HT/FT victories.
- All of Maccabi Haifa’s league games this season either ended in D/W, or L/L HT/FT results.
Finding value in a barren market
PSG are essentially assured of their progress to the knockout phase of the UCL but we’re expecting Messi & co to show up and put Maccabi Haifa to the sword here, just to be sure.
The hosts have been completely dominant domestically this season, they remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 with all ten of their victories in 2022/23 also coming after leading at half-time. That’s not to mention that they led at half-time in two of their four UCL group games so far, arguably against tougher opponents than Maccabi.
Maccabi sprang a surprise with victory over Juventus in the last round to keep their hopes of springtime football alive, but Juventus are toiling on all fronts this season and they’ll certainly face a much tougher test here in Paris.
Poor-travelling Maccabi will struggle
With four defeats across their last five away games (W1), Maccabi’s defence is likely to be stretched yet again. The visitors conceded at least twice in four of those games and against the likes of Hapoel Jerusalem and Kiryat Shmona… so PSG may well have a field day.
There is very little value to be found in most markets with this game being so one sided on paper. As such, we’re forced to take a short price about a HT/FT PSG win, siding against the hosts seems foolish so in order to stick with the hosts, we must sacrifice the big priced selections!
As for the correct score, this should really be a walk in the park for PSG and as such, we’re going for a straightforward 3-0 home win, perhaps with Mbappe finding the net yet again after scoring three times in his last three competitive appearances.
