Transformed Tykes to deliver again in midweek
Barnsley made it five league wins on the spin with their 2-1 home victory over Millwall on Saturday and the Tykes can go in again this Wednesday night when they square off against QPR at Loftus Road.
Valerian Ismael’s side climbed up to seventh thanks to their victory over the Lions and few would bet against the Tykes soon breaking into the top six. They’re now just a point behind the play-off places with a game in hand and are quite simply impossible to oppose at present based on their recent results and performances.
Their superb sequence kicked off with a 2-0 triumph over Brentford in early February which ended the Bees’ 21 match unbeaten run, and the South Yorkshire outfit are going from strength to strength.
They also registered an emphatic 3-0 win against QPR in October’s reverse fixture at Oakwell which will give them further confidence here, and we’re keen to get behind the visitors, despite the fact that the Superhoops have won their last three at Loftus Road.
In contrast to Barnsley who have enjoyed a fairly easy week with two home wins, QPR have picked up just point from their two away trips against Preston and Birmingham City. Barnsley should have the fresher legs on top of their current momentum, and we fancy the Tykes to bank another three points and a fourth successive away clean sheet via a 0-1 score-line.
