      QPR vs Brentford Predictions

Last weekend brought a setback for an improving QPR side, who had their rise up the ranks derailed. They lost 1-0 away to Blackburn Rovers, which knocked the Rs back down to 11th place in the table. They remain just three points shy of the top six, which marks a remarkable turnaround for Steve McClaren’s side of late. Will they be on top form once again when they meet Brentford at Loftus Road this weekend?

The hosts will be looking at their narrow 1-0 loss at Blackburn as a setback, but plenty of top teams have struggled in trips to Ewood Park so far this season. QPR have a great chance to bounce back this weekend, which is going to be the real test for McClaren and his charges. Were they simply thriving on the back of some good momentum, or can he make a real change in the clubs fortunes by making a sustained improvement?

Brentford have had a real change in fortunes this season, as they started the campaign under Dean Smith with promotion hopes. They made a push for the top spots, although their form then started to dip. With a string of poor results behind him, Smith jumped ship to Aston Villa, and since then things have gone even further downhill for the Bees. They did claim a 2-0 win at home to Millwall last weekend, but can they improve their dreadful run of results on the road?

Brentford do have the best home record in the league, with the majority of their points won at their own ground. They have picked up just four on their travels this term – a record of 0.5 per game. They head into this one with four defeats behind them and zero wins on their travels, while they’ve won just once in their last 10 games overall.

QPR approach this one with four wins in their last six, including back to back home victories to nil. They have certainly tightened up at the back, and we see them punishing a Brentford side who are in awful form defensively on their travels. We’re going with a home success on Saturday for McClaren’s side, given that the Bees have lost three of their last four outings. We don’t see the hosts pulling off a thumping, and we’re backing another QPR clean sheet in a narrow 1-0 home victory.
