      Portsmouth to Win

      Reason for tip

Portsmouth are worth a punt away at QPR. The hosts are in poor form, losing four of their last five and failing to score in four of those games, including back-to-back home defeats to nil. QPR are also leaking goals regularly, so if Portsmouth can be a bit sharper, they can take advantage of a struggling side.

      Portsmouth 1-0

      Reason for tip

Portsmouth 1-0 is the correct-score pick. Goals are often scarce in Pompey matches, with under 2.5 landing in 21 of their 37 league games this season. QPR’s attack has gone cold, blanking in four of their last five, and two of the last three meetings have been decided by a single goal, so another tight game settled by one strike makes sense.

      QPR vs Portsmouth Predictions

Pompey can nick it at Loftus Road

Portsmouth are out of sorts, but there might be some value in an away win at QPR on Saturday.

QPR are 16th in the league, four places above Portsmouth, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. QPR have won 14 and lost 16 of their 38 games, while Portsmouth have ten wins and 17 defeats.

The hosts’ attack has gone cold. QPR haven’t found a way to score in four of their last five Championship games, a run that has seen them lose four of those matches. They have also suffered back-to-back home defeats without scoring.

Defending has not been QPR’s strong suit this term. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last ten Championship games and have conceded 30 goals at home this season, an average of 1.67 goals per game from 18 matches.

QPR’s recent home form has been poor, with five of the last seven Championship home games ending in defeat. They have now gone three matches without a win on their own ground.

There have been under 2.5 goals in 21 of Portsmouth’s 37 Championship games this season and two of the last three head-to-heads have seen them win by the odd goal. A 1-0 away win looks a decent correct-score bet.
