Racing Club vs Alianza Lima Predictions
- Racing are unbeaten in 9 competitive games, winning 5 times in the process.
- Racing have won 3 of their last 4 Copa Libertadores home games and have kept 4 clean sheets from their last 5 home outings in it.
- Alianza Lima have lost 3 of their last 4 matches to nil.
- Alianza Lima have lost their last 6 Copa Libertadores games, scoring just once in the process.
Racing looking for routine win
Argentines Racing Club kicked off their Libertadores campaign with a 2-1 win in Venezuela over Estudiantes de Merida and will be hoping for more of the same this week as they host Alianza Lima. Favourites to top the group, La Academia will be looking to avoid any slip-ups and are fully expecting to claim all 3 points.
Unbeaten in 9 matches, winning 5 times in the process, Racing are running along nicely and confidence is high coming into Friday’s game. The side have also won 3 of their last 4 home games in the Copa Libertadores, leaving it clear just why they are considered such heavy favourites in this clash.
Alianza looking to end Libertadores misery
Meanwhile, it was certainly no surprise to see Alianza Lima lose their Libertadores opener against Uruguayans Nacional. The Peruvians failed to step up on the big stage once again in the 1-0 defeat and showed exactly why they are expected to be eliminated at this stage of the competition.
Indeed, Alianza’s recent record in the Copa Libertadores is utterly atrocious and they just don’t have the quality needed to compete at such a high level. They haven’t won any of their last 18 games in the competition, losing 15 times in the process and having lost their last 6 outings during said steak whilst scoring just once, they are highly unlikely to trouble Racing in the Argentine capital.
Racing look set for a comfortable evening
Ultimately, it’d be a massive surprise if Racing slipped up on Friday and they should be able to win the match easily. Man for man, they are stronger than Alianza all over the pitch and the visitors’ record in the Libertadores really does speak for itself as regard their chances of getting a result.
All things considered, backing a Racing win to nil looks a good way to play as far as the betting is concerned and is something we’re happy to do with maximum confidence. Racing have kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 5 Libertadores home games and we envisage that becoming 5 from 6 against a weak visiting outfit via a 2-0 margin of victory.
