Hibs can frustrate Rangers

Rangers still look like a work in progress under Danny Rohl and they could be frustrated by a stubborn Hibernian outfit on Monday.

The Gers blew a 1-0 lead at Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday as they slipped to a 2-1 loss in Hungary. That result effectively ended their hopes of knockout action in Europe, and they may struggle to get themselves up for this game.

Rangers have just one win in their last five games, and backing Hibernian to at least avoid defeat in the double chance market is the pick four our main tip.

This will be the sixth meeting between these two sides this calendar year and Hibs have only lost two of those games (W1, D2). Admittedly, those are the most recent two games but Rangers were perhaps lucky to come away from Easter Road with a 1-0 win in the last meeting.

Hibs have only lost two of their eight Premiership trips and they’ve avoided defeat at Celtic, so they can take at least a point at Ibrox.

Both sides have had a few defensive issues as Rangers have just one clean sheet in their last six home games, while Hibs have conceded in four of their last five away. That suggests we should see goals at both ends and a bold play on a 2-2 draw is the correct score bet as both of these sides are scoring on average over a goal per game (Hibs 1.7, Rangers 1.5).

Rangers will be without Bojan Miovski after he picked up an injury in Hungary, so Danilo Pereira appeals as a bit of an outside pick for an anytime goal. They Brazilian has two goals in 10 Premiership appearances this season and hit the only goal of the game when these sides last met in Edinburgh.
