Aberdeen vs Hearts Predictions
- Five of the last six meetings between these sides have gone under 2.5 goals
- Aberdeen won all of their four Scottish League Cup group stage games
- Hearts were beaten 6-0 on aggregate by Sturm Graz in the Champions League qualifiers
Aberdeen a solid bet in the Granite City
It’s all change at Hearts this season after the Jambos went mighty close to ending the Old Firm’s dominance of the Scottish Premiership last term.
The capital club lost out on the title to Celtic on the final day of the previous campaign, and with Derek McInnes departing for Rangers, it’s now over to new manager Wouter Vrancken to continue the progress.
Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin have followed McInnes to Ibrox, but Hearts have made 12 permanent signings this summer.
Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Sabri Guendouz and Amadou Ba-Sy are interesting arrivals, who all arrive at Tynecastle for transfer fees.
Beau Reus is a replacement for the retired Craig Gordon in goal, and with Jamestown Analytics involved, there is a strong chance that many of Hearts’ new arrivals will be excellent performers.
Aberdeen will hope to improve on last season’s dismal effort and Stephen Robinson’s men have won all of their four Scottish League Cup group stage games.
Topi Keskinen and Alexander Jensen have left Granite City, but there have been a number of interesting arrivals at Pittodrie and forward Kevin Nisbet has been scoring for fun in the cup.
Hearts were beaten 1-0 in the Granite City last season and they look opposable at odds-on this weekend.
