Hartberg Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Salzburg won just six of their 16 home matches last term, finishing their campaign with a 3-1 home defeat to Hartberg. The visitors only suffered three away defeats last season, and they could capitalise on teething problems for Danny Rohl, who has struggled early in his last two management jobs.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Hartberg drew more games (7) than they won (6) or lost (3) on the road last season. They picked up a point in their first visit to Salzburg last season, and BTTS landed in the pair’s cup victories last week.

Red Bull Salzburg vs Hartberg Predictions

  • Danny Rohl has struggled early in his last two roles
  • Salzburg won only six of 16 home matches last season, claiming only one point from two meetings with Hartberg
  • The visitors lost just three times across their 16 away trips

Another early stumble for Rohl

After winning the title every year between 2014 and 2023, RB Salzburg have endured a tough few years by comparison. They finished third in the Bundesliga last season, and they’ve tasked former Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl with turning things around.

However, Rohl won only one of his first seven games at Wednesday, while he lost three of his first five with Rangers, winning only four of his first 10 matches in Glasgow.

Last term, Salzburg won only six of their 16 home matches, finishing their campaign with a 3-1 home defeat against Hartberg.

The visitors had an impressive record on the road, suffering only three defeats in 16 matches. With Markus Schopp returning for his third spell in charge of the club, they should be able to hit the ground running in this new campaign.

With Salzburg likely to take some time to adjust to Rohl’s approach, Hartberg are great value to cause an upset.
