Valerenga can see off travel sick HamKam

Valerenga are just five points adrift of the European spots and they can boost their chances of a top four finish with three points against poor travellers HamKam.

The visitors are only two points further back but they arrive on the back of a three-game losing run and have one of the worst road records in Norway’s top tier. HamKam are yet to win on the road and have just three points from seven trips, and they look set to fall short against their in-form hosts.

Valerenga returned from the summer break with a heavy defeat at Tromso but have won back-to-back games since. Their home form has been solid all season with 13 points from seven games, so they should be able to claim maximum points here.

The home side began the season with two clean sheets but they have conceded in each of their last 12 league games and HamKam have only failed to score in two of their seven trips. That suggests we should see goals at both ends and a 3-1 home win is the pick, as Valerenga have scored at least three goals in each of their last four wins and exactly three in three of those victories.

Lucas Haren is Valerenga’s top scorer this season with six goals in the league and three of those have come in his last two games. The Danish forward can continue his hot-streak against HamKam on Friday.
