Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Rangers have been active in the transfer market over the summer and the Gers look to have build a squad which can beat Dundee United on the opening day of the season.

Rangers 3-1

Reason for tip

There have been at least four goals in all of their last five meetings between Dundee United and Rangers and the Gers won the most recent contest 4-2. The Ibrox outfit look set for another high-scoring success and 3-1 could be the best correct score option.

Dundee United vs Rangers Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in all of the last seven meetings between these teams
  • There have been at least four goals in all of the last five meetings between Dundee United and Rangers
  • Rangers are unbeaten in their last 13 games against Dundee United

Tannadice braced for goals

Rangers get their William Hill Premiership campaign underway with a trip to Dundee United and the Gers will hope it’s the start of the title push.

Derek McInnes has replaced Danny Rohl in the dugout and the Light Blues will need improvement on last season’s 2-2 draw at Tannadice.

It’s been a busy summer at Ibrox with Ivor Pandur, Vanja Dragojevic, Ross McCrorie, Dan Neil, Lawrence Shankland, Cammy Devlin and Ben Godfrey all making the move to Glasgow.

There is still time for more transfer action before the market closes with former loanee Vaclav Cerny close to joining Rangers and Nico Raskin set to leave the club.

McInnes has the consideration of a strong start to the domestic campaign alongside the upcoming Europa League qualifiers and Rangers are expected to be advanced in their preparations when they take on Dundee United.

The Terrors will hope to build on last season’s solid campaign and Jim Goodwin’s men won three of their four group stage games in this term’s Scottish League Cup.

New signings Dylan Tait, Michael Forbes, Jesse Randall, Jack Walton, Joshua Rawlins and Lachlan Rose should all be up to speed after getting game time in the cup and this contest could be headed the same way as the 2-2 Tannadice draw between these sides last season.

Taking both teams to score looks the best play for Friday night’s Premiership curtain raiser.
