Rangers vs Queen Of The South Predictions
Rangers looked to be on their way to further extending their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship last Friday when they went 2-0 up at Falkirk within ten minutes, but they uncharacteristically collapsed. Three goals in the final 20 minutes saw Rangers slump to a rare league defeat, although their lead in the table is still a comfortable 11 points over 2nd placed Falkirk.
This defeat ended their six match winning streak and their 15 match unbeaten streak in all competitions, but I doubt the Glasgow giants will dwell too much on the loss.
Queen of the South will be high on confidence though. They managed to end a three match losing streak last weekend with a 6-0 thrashing of Dumbarton, a win that puts them 13 points clear of the relegation zone.
They are all but safe from relegation now, but they have no chance of challenging the top three for a promotion playoff opportunity, so Queen of the South’s season is all but over now.
Rangers remain unbeaten in the Scottish Championship at the Ibrox this season, with their only defeat in any competition coming back in September when St Johnstone beat them in the Scottish League Cup.
They have won 14 of their 16 home games since then, and in the league they have dropped just two points there all season. During their 15 home league games they have scored 42 times and conceded just nine.
The hosts have won six of their last nine home games by more than a single goal, while Queen of the South have lost six away games on the bounce. This makes odds of 8/13 for a Rangers -1 Handicap Win look good value to me, and I’m going for a 3-0 correct score prediction at 11/2 as well.
