Reading vs Burnley Betting Tips and Predictions

Reading aren’t in great form in the league despite a couple of big home wins in the FA Cup in recent weeks. They are winless in 5 Championship matches and have lost 9 of their last 15 in the league.

Promotion looks a distant perhaps impossible dream now with 14 point separating them and the top six. They should have too much quality to be sucked into a relegation battle this season but could do with a few wins to ensure that doesn’t happen.

It is hard to see one of them coming here though. Burnley are unbeaten in 7 in the league and have won 4 of their last 5 including a crucial 1-0 win against Hull last weekend. They are just 2 points off the top which is highly impressive when you consider they looked like they might drop out of the top six altogether around Christmas time.

They’ve scored 9 goals and taken 7 points from their last 3 away league games so at 11/10 they look really good in the ‘draw no bet’ market here. Burnley have seemed to be quite long odds with the bookies all season when compared to the likes of Middlesbrough, Hull and Derby so there has been a bit of value to be found in punting on the Clarets and this seems like another good opportunity to do so.

Reading have an FA Cup 5th Round tie with West Brom to look forward to next weekend and they might have half an eye on that although it’s unlikely to have any significance in terms of team selection here. Burnley are scoring goals and looking pretty solid at the back right now so consider backing a 2-0 away in at 12/1.
