Real Betis vs Real Madrid Predictions

It has been a good start for Zizou but he has had two fairly kind home fixtures to ease him into the job. They scored 5 times in both of them as Deportivo and Sporting Gijon were brushed aside but Real Madrid could still be as low as 4th when this game kicks off and can’t afford any slip-ups as they look to keep up the pressure on rivals Atletico and Barcelona.

If you discount their Copa Del Rey tie at Cadiz, which was awarded to the hosts, Real Madrid haven’t won away from home since November when they won at Eibar but again Zidane probably couldn’t have a much more winnable opening away game than a trip to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

Real Betis have only won once at home in the league this season and they’ve taken just 2 points from their last 7 on their home patch. They come into this one without a win in 10 matches and without a goal in any of their last 7 after an alarming slide that saw the club dispense with the services of Head Coach Pepe Mel for a 2nd time.

Interim boss Juan Merino will take charge of this one but he faces a tall order to try and get anything out of this against a Real Madrid side that have scored 57 goals in 20 matches this season. Sergio Ramos remains an injury absentee but Zidane has all his other stars available and they should be fresh having not played in the Copa Del Rey in midweek.

This is likely to be fairly one sided and although Real Madrid have been less convincing on the road, their slip-ups have come against better teams than Betis and backing them with  a -1.5 Asian Handicap at 1.800 looks a good bet especially given the feel good factor that Zidane has brought.

It may prove to be only a short-term thing but against Real Betis who are propping up the form table and heading towards a relegation battle, a comfortable 3-0 away win should be possible and can be backed at 8/1.
