Real Betis looking for a statement victory

Real Betis remain well placed in La Liga, with three straight wins meaning they are still in touch with the top four. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are struggling for clean sheets though, failing to keep one in five outings.

Each of those matches have seen both teams score, as have three of their previous four games against teams currently in the top four.

The Greens have in fact kept just one clean sheet in their last eight at home as well, with the other seven fixtures seeing both teams score, although they have lost just three out of 11 league games at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Real must bounce back

Real Madrid meanwhile suffered a chastening 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final against Barcelona on Thursday, only the third time they have failed to score in 39 games this season.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will now be looking for a return to form on the road, where both teams have scored in ten of their 20 matches across all competitions, including half of their 12 league fixtures.

Betis should beware the wounded animal too, as Los Blancos have not lost back-to-back matches since the autumn of 2021, winning 11 of their last 13 fixtures directly after a defeat.

I predict that both teams will score in this match, but suspect the visitors will get a win, selecting 2-1 as a correct score prediction.
