      Wolverhampton To Win To Nil

      Reason for tip

Wolves have a strong squad at Championship level and have won their last three games without conceding. They face a Blackburn side that narrowly avoided relegation last season and have shown little in the way of improvement over the summer.

      Wolverhampton vs Blackburn Rovers Predictions

      • Wolves have won their last three games to nil.

Wolves set to start season with a win

Wolves begin their first Championship season after a six-year spell in the top flight with a home tie against Blackburn.

The Black Country side are 5-1 second favourites for the title and 6-4 to quickly regain promotion to the Premier League. They can begin that mission with a straightforward win over Blackburn, who finished 20th last season and are 4-1 to be relegated this term.

Cesar Peixoto has built a strong squad at this level since taking over as Wolves boss from Rob Edwards, with the return of Mexico international Raul Jimenez adding further attacking quality alongside the signing of defender Kieran Trippier.

That quality, along with key players who have remained at the club such as Andre, Yerson Mosquera and Rodrigo Gomes, makes them a dangerous side that should prove too strong for Blackburn.

Mosquera is set to play in a back three for the home side and that defence has Premier League experience, which could make it difficult for Rovers to score, as Port Vale found out when they lost 3-0 at Molineux in the first round of the EFL Cup.
