Getafe Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Getafe qualified for the Conference League last term and the good vibes can continue in their season opener. Jose Bordalas’s side have won their last two away matches against Alaves, a team who survived by only one point last season.

Getafe 1-0

Reason for tip

Only one of Getafe’s last nine games have seen both teams score, so a low-scoring encounter is likely. Bordalas is known for keeping things tight and a fourth win to nil in five head-to-heads is well within reach for the visitors.

Alaves vs Getafe Predictions

  • Alaves won only four of their final 17 games of the 2025-26 season
  • Just one of Getafe’s last nine matches have seen both teams score
  • Getafe are unbeaten in four head-to-heads, winning three

Hosts heading for another difficult season

While Italy ease into things with cup action and Germany and France take another week off to recover from a gruelling season and World Cup, Spain are not hanging about, with the 2026-27 La Liga kicking into gear on Saturday.

Alaves welcome Getafe for the curtain-raiser and it is unlikely to be a happy return to domestic action for the hosts.

Quique Sanchez Flores’s side survived by only one point last season and a quiet transfer window does little to suggest improvement is on the cards this time around.

Bordalas’s boys can open with a win

Getafe, in contrast, are heading in the right direction. They kept hold of influential manager Jose Bordalas despite interest from Crystal Palace and have made some smart signings, most notably loanees Orel Mangala and Andres Garcia.

Forward Martin Satriano and former Real Madrid youngster Mario Martin will also add quality to the squad and they should prove too strong for their hosts.

Seven places and eight points separated these sides last term and that gulf should again show, with Bordalas’s well-drilled Getafe set to prevail at Alaves, just as they did in February.
