Alaves in need of a win

Alaves sit just two points above the La Liga relegation zone, but that is is largely down to their poor form on the road, with nine of their 14 points picked up on home soil.

The Estadio de Mendizorroza is hardly the place to go for goals though. There have been just 17 of them in eight matches, with half of those games containing just one strike.

Javier Calleja’s side have kept two clean sheets at home, while only once this season have them managed to score more than once.

Getafe’s terrible away record

Getafe have played eight away games in La Liga and their record is appalling, losing five, drawing three and scoring only two goals.

Quique Sánchez Flores has seen an up turn in form since taking the reigns in October, especially by tightening up a defence that has now kept three successive clean sheets.

But they have only scored once in their last six away games in La Liga, with six of their eight fixtures on the road containing fewer than three goals.

Given neither side are prolific in front of goal, I suspect neither ‘keeper will be particularly busy, so predict there will be under three goals in the match. My correct score prediction is 1-0 to Alaves, who should have enough to win the game.
