Low-scoring scrap expected in Oviedo

There might not be too much action in Sunday’s clash between Oviedo and Getafe at Estadio Carlos Tartiere, with the recommended bet to go under the goals. Getafe’s last five games in the Primera Liga all stayed under 2.5 goals and there have been fewer than three goals in 16 of their last 20 games.

Getafe are 13 places above Oviedo in the table, with 16 points separating the two teams. Oviedo, who are bottom of the table, have six wins so far this season, while Getafe are seventh.

Getafe have scored an average of just 0.88 goals a game in their 17 Primera Liga games against bottom-half teams this season, while Oviedo have failed to win 16 of their 18 games against top-half sides.

Both teams are struggling for form. Oviedo have not won in three Primera Liga games, while Getafe have lost three of their last four matches. However, Getafe did beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in their last away game two weeks ago.

Oviedo’s recent games have proven to be cagey affairs, with 13 of their last 16 home games in the Primera Liga ending with under 2.5 goals.

Getafe have conceded in five of their last seven games, but they kept a clean sheet last month against eighth-placed Athletic Bilbao, when they won 2-0. They have conceded 36 goals this season in the Primera Liga – an average of just over one goal per game.

Both teams have struggled to find the net recently. Oviedo have scored just 26 goals in 34 games this season – an average of 0.76 goals per game – while Getafe have failed to score in three of their last four matches.

For their part, Oviedo to win 1-0 at home looks a decent correct-score bet. No Primera Liga team has played more matches with fewer than three goals this season than Getafe’s 25, and five of Oviedo’s six wins have been by a single goal.
