Sociedad can make home form count

Real Sociedad should be backed to get a win at home to Osasuna on Sunday. The visitors’ away form has let them down in the Primera Liga this season, with just two wins in 14 games on their travels.

This is a mid-table clash, with Real Sociedad three places above Osasuna in eighth, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts have won nine and lost ten of their 27 games, while Osasuna have nine wins and 11 defeats.

Real Sociedad seem to be firing on all cylinders at home, having enjoyed success in three of their last four home games in the Primera Liga.

Real Sociedad have found some form in front of goal, scoring in 18 of their last 19 league games. They have netted in 12 consecutive matches, including a 3-3 draw with Oviedo last month.

Osasuna are struggling to find the net, having blanked in four of their last six La Liga away games. They have been disappointing in front of goal on the road this season, scoring just eight goals in 14 games – an average of 0.57 goals a game.

At the other end of the pitch, Osasuna have looked vulnerable at the back, failing to keep their opponents at bay in three straight Primera Liga games. They have kept just three clean sheets in their last 16 matches, with their last shutout coming against Elche last month.

Real Sociedad may be able to edge out Osasuna in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Six of Real Sociedad’s nine victories this season have been by one goal and eight of Osasuna’s 11 reverses have also come by a single goal.
