Reims certainly not fond of home

The hosts’ four-match unbeaten run was brought to an end last time out as they lost 2-1 to Angers on home soil. They now sit just five points above the relegation places and welcome the division’s bottom side to the Stade Auguste-Delaune, knowing that a win could see them put further distance between themselves and the drop zone. Reims poor home form is worrying though, they’ve won just two of their previous 17 home Ligue 1 matches and have also conceded in 13 straight league games against Saint-Etienne.

The visitors were dealt a morale damaging 5-0 defeat at the hands of Rennes at the weekend and that result saw boss Claude Puel given his marching orders. Yet another takeover attempt of the club appears to be put on hold and their season goes from bad to worse both off and on the pitch. This is their second-worst start to a season in their history as they’ve won just two of their 17 Ligue 1 games and just one of those came away from home. They are poor at the back and have conceded two or more goals in five of their eight away league matches this season.

Reims to overcome a Saint-Etienne side low on morale

Things are bad in the Saint-Etienne camp and we think the hosts will bounce back with a win here. We also think that Reims will win by at least two clear goals.
