Home comforts for Rennes

Rennes put in a spirited display against PSG last time out but failed to reap the rewards as they conceded beyond the 88th minute for the second time across their last three defeats. However, despite this setback, they still entered the week just five points behind thor-placed Nice. It’s been on home soil that Rennes have been impressive, they boast the third-best home record in the division and have only conceded eight goals in the 12 matches they’ve played at Roazhon Park. They’ll be confident of victory here.

Visitors Troyes were demolished 501 at the hands of Brest last weekend and as a result, they ended the matchday above the relegation playoff spot only on goal difference, and with worse points tally after 24 rounds than in two of their last four Ligue 1 relegation seasons, it looks as though the writing could be on the wall for Bruno Irles’ side. Their three away wins is respectable in comparison to the other sides around them, but the problem is they’ve been too easy to beat. They’ve lost eight of their 12 road matches and are conceding an average of nearly two goals per game away from home.

Troyes will struggle to score

The odds look quite short for a straight home win, but we think there’s value to be had on both teams not scoring. We’re expecting the hosts to dominate throughout, manage the game well and secure the three points without conceding.
