Ross County vs Aberdeen Predictions

Aberdeen travels to Dingwall this weekend where they’ll be hosted by Ross County at Victoria Park. Can the Dons make it 3 wins in a row and overtake Motherwell in the league table?

After an extremely strong start to the season, Ross County’s form has slowly dipped over the last few weeks. The Staggies are currently in a 6-game winless streak that has seen them pick up just 4 points from a possible 18.

Despite conceding 10 goals to both Celtic and Rangers, the Dingwall outfit has been consistent in their last 3 draws, with that trio of games all ending 2-2. The side co-managed by Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell has seen a lot of goals this season, with 83% of their games all seeing over 2.5 goals and 60% of their home fixtures seeing over 3.5.

The Staggies have done well to net an average of 1.6 at Victoria Park but have failed in defence, conceding an average of 2.2 times whilst only keeping a clean sheet in 20% of home matches.

Unlike Ross County, Aberdeen’s season is going relatively well, despite Dons fans calling for manager Derek McInnes to be sacked after some disappointing defeats to Celtic and Rangers. However, Aberdeen has won 3 of their last 5 games and have only known defeat on 3 occasions so far.

The Pittodrie club hasn’t struggled on the road too much either, losing just twice to St Mirren and Rangers but picking up 10 points from their other 4 outings. Moreover, the Dons have kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 5 away days and concede a mere 1 goal per away game, albeit failing to score in 50% of them.

Ross County has seen huge sums of goals in their home ties this season, although they have only managed to win at Victoria Park on 2 occasions. Aberdeen has been more conservative in their away trips, as they have scored a mere 1 goal per game but also concede the same amount.

The Dons have yet to see both teams score on their away days whilst 60% of the Staggies’ home ties have seen that happen. The visitors are in good form and are better than their hosts on paper, so we’re going to back them to win here and for both teams to score, with a final score of 2-1 to McInnes’ side due to the fact 100% of Ros County’s home games have seen over 2.5 goals.
