Rotherham vs Huddersfield Predictions
This is a Yorkshire derby but not one of the most keenly contested ones with 30 miles separating the two towns. There may be reason for both clubs to celebrate come full-time. If MK Dons lose just up the road at Hillsborough, Huddersfield will be mathematically safe, as will Rotherham should they also win this game while a draw could also be enough depending on Charlton’s result. All maths aside Huddersfield haven’t really had anything to worry about for some time now and they would have slept particularly easily after their 2-0 win at Blackburn on Saturday which moved them up to 16th.
Rotherham’s great escape has become an almost inexplicably easy one given where they were a couple of months back. They are unbeaten in 9 matches, 6 of which have been wins and although their 0-0 draw at home to Nottingham Forest at the weekend was probably their most disappointing result in that spell, it edged them a little closer to safety and that is all that really matter as far as the South Yorkshire club are concerned.
Neil Warnock seemed pretty content with the point too and it wouldn’t be a disastrous result here either. The Millers have shown newly discovered defensive resiliance in this run they are on and again may not be too adventurous here given the league standings and Huddersfield’s attacking threat. 4 of Huddersfield’s last 6 away games have finished with exactly two goals and they too would probably take a draw here, which would move them onto 50 points which is generally regarded as the magic figure as far as bottom half sides are concerned in this league. It’s tough to pick a winner so backing this to end in a 1-1 draw at 5/1 might be the way to go in the correct score market.
