Rotherham vs West Bromwich Albion Predictions
- West Brom have won four straight pre-season friendlies, scoring 13 goals
- The Baggies finished 21st in the Championship last season
- Rotherham haven’t won a competitive home game since February
Baggies showing signs of revival
West Brom finished last season just one spot above the Championship trap door and will be looking for better things this term with James Morrison at the helm.
That alarming 2025-26 campaign followed four consecutive top-half finishes in the second tier between 2022 and 2025 for the Midlands side and they should rebound.
Reducing the average age in the squad has been a key this summer. Jimmy-Jay Morgan joined from Chelsea on a four-year-deal and the 20-year-old has already scored five times in pre-season.
The visitors can take care of a Millers side competing in the fourth tier for the first time in over a decade.
Goals are forecast
Albion have been scoring freely in pre-season, netting 13 times in their last four games, with new signing Morgan key. Wide man Mikey Johnston is also back fit and the Irish international should be a help.
New Rotherham boss has recruited EFL veteran Paul Mullin to try and replace the goals lost with Sam Nombe’s switch to MK Dons. The Millers have scored in six of seven pre-season games and can help turn this into a scoring duel at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
