Samp expected to end winless run
Sampdoria’s poor form continued last weekend as they lost 3-1 at Bologna, but the hosts have a great chance of ending their five-match winless streak when they face a Torino side in a precarious position heading into the latter period of the Serie A season.
Samp’s record starts to look a lot better on home soil. Their only defeats at home in 2021 have come against top-four sides Juventus and Atalanta and three wins from these six games, including one against Inter Milan, hint at a promising afternoon on Sunday.
The visitors did manage to get three points in a 3-2 thriller against Sassuolo last week, but they remain just a point outside the relegation zone and their defensive performances continue to raise concerns. Torino have conceded eight goals in their last three games and have shipped at least two goals in four of their last five league away games.
Sampdoria have scored at least two in six of their last eight at home as well, so backing Sampdoria over 1.5 team goals looks a good choice. With the hosts winning three of their last six at home by a 2-1 scoreline, we’re also opting for that as our correct score prediction.
