Dortmund poised to pile pressure on leaky Freiburg

Freiburg are out of form and Borussia Dortmund look set to extend their good run when they visit Europa-Park Stadion on Sunday.

Dortmund are third in the Bundesliga, six places and 12 points above ninth-placed Freiburg, with eight wins, four draws and one loss from their 13 games, while the hosts have won four, drawn four and lost five.

Borussia Dortmund beat Hoffenheim 2-0 last weekend to bring their opponents’ six-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to an end and keep up their recent winning trend. Dortmund have won eight of the 13 games in which they’ve scored first this season (62%).

The hosts have looked vulnerable at the back. Freiburg have failed to keep a clean sheet in ten of their last 11 Bundesliga home games.

The Borussia Dortmund attack is in fine form, having scored in 21 consecutive league games. They have netted at least twice in seven of their 13 Bundesliga matches this season.

The visitors have momentum on their side. Borussia Dortmund have won on four of their last six Bundesliga away trips and have only lost one of their last ten matches in the league. They come into this game on the back of two consecutive wins.

With five of Freiburg’s last seven Bundesliga games featuring three goals or more, the 2-1 away win for Borussia Dortmund looks like a decent correct-score bet.
