Sheffield United should be backed to beat Swansea at home in the Championship on Friday. The visitors have lost five of their last seven away games and United manager Chris Wilder will be hopeful of getting a result against Vitor Matos’ side.

Swansea are three places above Sheffield United in the table, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The hosts sit 17th with 15 wins and 19 defeats, while the visitors are 14th with 15 wins and 17 losses.

Sheffield United will be backing themselves to find the net here, having scored in 12 consecutive Championship games and in 16 of their last 18 league matches.

Backing Swansea when they have been underdogs this season would have resulted in a 5.00-unit loss, with five wins from their 20 games as an underdog.

Swansea’s recent away form has been disappointing, with their last two Championship games ending in defeat.

They have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 16 goals in 19 games – an average of 0.84 goals a game on the road. They have failed to score in three of their last four Championship away games.

Swansea’s defence has been far from watertight of late. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their last eight Championship games, including their last four on the road.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Sheffield United looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. At least one of the sides has failed to score in seven of the last eight Championship clashes between these two, and United have won two of the last three meetings by a single goal.
