      Sheffield Wednesday vs Bolton Predictions

It has been a nightmare campaign on and off the pitch for Bolton and it nearly hit a new low at the weekend when they were 3 minutes from going out of the FA Cup at the hands of non-league Eastleigh. Darren Pratley rescued a replay for the visitors but they will need to put in a much better showing if they are to get anything from their trip to the Steel City.

They should at least get to play on something resembling a proper football pitch for this one after enduring a nightmare surface at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday. Having won just 1 of their last 20 matches in all competitions though, Neil Lennon’s side won’t travel with much confidence and they have taken only 3 points from 12 away games in the league this season so it is hard to see anything but a home win here.

Sheffield Wednesday have won both matches they’ve played so far in 2016. Both were against Fulham and they have won 4 of their last 5 matches overall. You have to go back to August for their last home defeat and they’ve won 8 of their 11 games at Hillsborough since then.

There have been over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 home games, most of which were scored by Sheffield Wednesday. Up against a Bolton side that were hammered 4-0 just up the road at Rotherham in their last league away game, backing there to be over 2.5 goals in this contest at Evens looks a good bet.

Only one of Wednesday’s last 4 home wins was to nil though and despite their struggles Bolton have managed to score in 7 of their last 10 games so consider backing a 3-1 home win here at 12/1.
