Southampton vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips & Predictions

Southampton endured a rather rocky start to the campaign, and despite their resurgence then went through another difficult patch towards the end of 2015. However, they have come back stronger than ever and still find themselves well in with a shout of qualifying for the Europa League.

They currently sit in 7th position in the Premier League, which would be enough for Europa League qualification if Manchester United win the FA Cup next weekend. They can leapfrog West Ham if the Hammers lose or draw their final game though, and that would guarantee them continental football.

The Saints are in fantastic form as well. They are unbeaten in five coming into this game and have won six of their last eight in the Premier League. Not only are they winning, but they’re winning in style. They have scored 13 goals in their last five matches and seen a total of 21 goals scored. The form of the Southampton attack will not please Crystal Palace.

Palace will just be happy to be safe from relegation though. Their dismal form in 2016 had them sneaking towards the drop zone, but the bottom three is all wrapped up now, and Crystal Palace’s win against Stoke in midweek sent them up to 14th in the table.

This win made it two wins, two defeats, and two draws in their last six outings, which is decent form considering their previous record and will provide a welcome confidence boost ahead of their FA Cup Final next weekend.

Away from home things get a little rockier though with just one win from their last seven, including three defeats. The Saints have netted ten goals in their last three home matches, while Crystal Palace have conceded 11 in their last six away in the Premier League. This makes me think that this could be a high scoring match, so odds of 17/20 for a Southampton Win and Over 2.5 Goals look good value to me. I’m going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 10/1 as well.
