Southampton vs Millwall Predictions

Southampton have been winners in four of their last five Championship home games and they are the best bet when they host Millwall on Thursday.

Millwall are eight places and seven points above Southampton in the table. The hosts sit 13th with eight wins, eight draws and eight losses, while Millwall are fifth, having won 11, drawn six and lost seven.

The goals have been flowing for Southampton this season. They have scored in 11 consecutive games, including a 5-1 win over Charlton in November, and have averaged 1.42 goals a game in their 12 Championship matches against top-half teams.

Southampton have lost just one of their last nine home games in the Championship, so they are in form at home.

Millwall have been vulnerable defensively recently, failing to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven Championship games.

A narrow 1-0 victory for Southampton looks the most likely outcome in the correct-score market. Four of Millwall’s last six Championship games have ended with under 2.5 goals and this could be another tight, low-scoring encounter.
