Southampton vs West Brom Betting Tips

Southampton finally managed to get a win in midweek when they beat the impressive Watford 2-0 at St Mary’s.

This ended their three match losing streak and was just their second win in their last 11 matches in all competitions, with eight of those games ending in defeat.

This terrible run has seen them slip down the Premier League table, and they currently sit in 12^th position with 27 points from their first 21 league matches.

West Brom managed to get a draw against Chelsea in their midweek game, making it two draws in a row after their last ditch FA Cup equaliser against Bristol City.

They are now unbeaten in four games in all competitions, but their performances have been less than impressive recently. Before this fairly fortunate run of results they had lost to the likes of Bournemouth and Swansea.

This puts The Baggies level on points with Southampton, sitting just below the hosts on goal difference.

I don’t fancy West Brom’s chances in this match. Southampton finally look to be showing the form they are capable of and in their last three matches at St Mary’s they have beaten Arsenal 4-0 and won against an in form Watford.

West Brom were fortuitous to get a point against Chelsea on Wednesday, and before that they lost 1-0 against a horrible out of form Swansea. They have lost four of their last eight away games and only won once.

Southampton’s confidence will have been boosted by their midweek victory as well, so I’m thinking they will carry on in that vein and get a win on Saturday. Odds of 8/11 for a Southampton win are pretty good value as well, so I’m going for that along with another 2-0 win for the hosts at 13/2.
