Spain and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Spain may have lost to Colombia last time out but they fielded an experimental line-up for that game and were unbeaten in eight before the 1-0 loss. They can return to winning ways against an understrength Brazil who had lost three on the bounce before edging past England on Saturday night.

Spain 3-1

Reason for tip

Spain should have too much for an understrength Brazil side that are particularly lacking in numbers defensively and La Roja may be able to replicate the 3-1 victories they have achieved in recent months against both Cyprus and Georgia.

Spain vs Brazil Predictions

  • Spain were unbeaten in eight matches prior to Friday’s loss to Colombia
  • Brazil have only kept two clean-sheet across their last 13 matches
  • The Selecao had lost three on the bounce before beating England on Saturday

La Roja too hot for Brazil to handle

Spain were on an eight-match unbeaten run prior to Friday’s friendly defeat to Colombia and there were extenuating reasons for that setback, with head coach Luis de la Fuente naming an experimental starting XI.

A much stronger La Roja team is expected to line up against Brazil and Spain should prosper, although they have conceded in each of their last three games and may struggle to keep Vinicius Junior and co at bay for the full 90 minutes.

Brazil had lost three matches on the bounce before edging past England 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday, but that was just their second clean-sheet across their last 13 games and they may get overrun at the Bernabeu.

Understrength Brazil may struggle to replicate Wembley efforts

Beating England was a feather in the cap of new Brazil head coach Dorival Junior, especially as he handed international debuts to seven players during the match.

Three of the starting back four and goalkeeper Bento were among those debutants, but although they kept England at bay, they did not always look watertight at the back.

Spain may be able to exploit that lack of international experience and La Roja could replicate the 3-1 scoreline they have achieved in two of their last three matches, albeit those successes came against Cyprus and Georgia rather than five-time world champions Brazil.
