Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in each of the last five games to feature Spezia, as well as in eight of Lecce’s last 11. While the hosts have Serie A’s second-worst defensive record, they also boast its second-highest goalscorer in M’Bala Nzola, while Lecce have hit multiple goals in each of their last three matches.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Only Cremonese and Udinese (both seven) have recorded more draws in Serie A than Lecce’s six this term – Spezia have five. With Spezia unbeaten in three games and Lecce without a defeat in their last four, a stalemate may be the best option.

Spezia vs Lecce Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in each of the last five games to feature Spezia.
  • Lecce, meanwhile, have seen both teams net in eight of their last 11 matches.
  • With Spezia unbeaten in three games and Lecce winning three in a row, punters may wish to avoid the result markets.

Spezia and Lecce resurgent

Both Spezia and Lecce impressed on their return to Serie A action on Wednesday, continuing decent runs which began prior to the World Cup. Spezia came agonisingly close to a huge win over Atalanta, only to be pegged back at the last in a 2-2 draw, while Lecce made it three wins in a row by shocking Lazio. While neither side was free-scoring earlier in the season, both have hit the goal trail of late, and a competitive affair is expected here.

Spezia are unbeaten in three games, having lost each of their previous three. While only Verona (30) have conceded more than their 28 Serie A goals against this term, Luca Gotti’s men have begun to produce in front of goal recently. Led by M’Bala Nzola – whose tally of eight Serie A goals this term is only bettered by Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Spezia have seen both teams net in each of their last five games, scoring a respectable total of 12 goals in their last eight outings.

Lecce, meanwhile, are flying in 12th after beating Lazio, a success which followed pre-World Cup victories against Atalanta and Sampdoria. Now unbeaten in their last four league games, Marco Baroni’s men have hit multiple goals in each of their last three outings, having done so in just one of their previous 13 prior to their resurgent run.

Back in-form outfits to net

Punters are advised to neglect the result markets after both Spezia and Lecce put together strong runs in recent weeks, with both teams to net a strong play for Sunday’s fixture.

Meanwhile, only Cremonese and Udinese (both seven) have recorded more draws in Serie A than Lecce’s six this term – Spezia have five. A 1-1 stalemate may represent a solid correct score prediction.
