Sporting to claim an easy win

Sporting Lisbon have enjoyed the perfect start to their new campaign, beating Vizela on the opening day before claiming a 2-1 win over Braga last weekend. The side have scored five times across those two games and conceded just once. Their fantastic start to the new campaign has been highlighted further by their Portuguese Super Cup win over Braga in July.

Belenenses can’t claim to have had the same terrific start to the season with losses against Porto and Maritimo meaning they are now without a win in eight games in all competitions. They have scored just two goals in that poor run too and, with no win in 12 against Sporting, things are looking bleak for the visitors this weekend.

It’s hard to see anything other than a comfortable Sporting win this weekend and the market tends to agree with the home side being heavy favourites for the victory, sapping all the value from the market. There is a small amount of value in backing the game to see over 2.5 goals though, something that has happened in both of Sporting’s games so far and could well happen again this weekend. We think the hosts claim a handsome win and we’re forecasting a 3-0 final score in the favour of Sporting Lisbon.
